I played Painkeep from the start when i first came out in 1996 as a Quake1 mod.
This makes me addicted to the game and I enjoy Painkeep as much today as I did the first time I played it.

At Painkeep net you can find download locations for all the Painkeep files; mod, maps, models, configs etc.

Painkeep isn't like regular Quake3.
Painkeep is all about having fun.
The game play itself is faster.
Weapon switching is faster.
You can protect yourself against the weapons, there is defensive scissors, paper, stone gameplay.

It is also, surprising, funny, smelly and frustrating.

Many of the Painkeep players dont like Quake3, but they love Painkeep !

Painkeep players aren't like other players
You will alwayes find a Painkeep player on the server or in the forum that loves the game and loves to show you all the secrets of the game.
Painkeep players will be frienldly from day 1.
If your are a rockey or an old fart, you are welcome.
We all like to win a game, but to have fun and helping others get into it is more important than to win a game.

If you join a server there will only be 5 to 10 minutes before a Painkeep player joins the server.
If you are looking at my server status to your right and dont see any live players, dont worry.
There aren't that many servers and players, but wait on a server and somone will join you soon !
We still love and have fun playing this game every day!

What is Painkeep about ?
Painkeep is nothing like regular Quake3
If you are world class Quake3 player your life as a Painkeeper will be short.
Dont get me wrong a Painkeep player is a dedicated Painkeep players that know all of the game and how to player it.
As a regular Quake3 player your dead.

Tired of running around in a deatmatch looking for the "Big" fucking gun that kills everyone, or having the "Big" fucking gun and kill everyone ?

A normal Quake3 deatmatch is all about having the railgun or rocket launcher in your hands to kille everyone with.
In Painkeep you have the favorit rocket lanucher and the railgun (magnum) but in Painkeep this dosent make you a winner!
There is a way to protect your self against the rockets or the magnum
You never know the outcome of a atack, because you dont now what the enemy protect himself with.

Weapons
Exploding shotgun, the nailgun, chain lightning gun, airfist, autosentry, bear traps, the Gravity Well, the dragon, and the Can of Pork and Beans.

You need strategi in Painkeep.
Exploding shotgun is shoting fast and at close hold its a killer, but you will only have 10 shells to shoot.

A airfist can be used to blow away rockets or to move fast away or get to a higher places. Way dont try to blow somone in the lave!

Nail gun are fast and the nails are hot. Nail the flore where somone runs, and they burn there feets off.

The Chain lightning gun (CLG) beam stick to your vitim, but also jumps to any oter players around. Use a autosentry to protect your self from the chaingun.
Drop a bear trap or autosentry and shot with the CLG to make them invisible.
Remeber where you drop tha invisble beartap or you wil be snapped by your own traps.

Drop a autosentry and it wil start shoting at everything it sees, even you. Autosentry can be used to protect yourself aginst Chain lightning gun reflecting the beam back to the shoter, but it can also be used as a sheeld from Magnum shots.

Beartraps are funny ass hell. When it snaps there wil be blod and screaming.
Make the bartrap invisbile by shooting at it with Chaing Ligthing gun.

Gravity Well suckes you real hard
Drop it and run for your life. the only way to protect your self against a well is to keep away.

Eat beans to get +100% health. To bad you fart that load that a sneak atack is out of the question. Farting also make it hard to aim when you jump around.
If your lucky you wil fart kill somone coming to close!
Eating beans and grap a Quade can make you explode hehehe.

I play Painkeep Arena almost everyday. Yea you read right almost everyday. Can you say that about any of your favorit games ?

Dont I get tired of playing the same game over and over again ?
Not realy I love it more and more, because there is noting like Painkeep Arena.
